Hey peeps, I had kind of a "day off" so I decided to try my hand at some coloring. This is one of the only pieces that I've drawn with the specific intention of using color to finish it, so I didn't use any shadows or even much in the way of line-weights in the pencil stage. Done with pencil, using photo ref for the figure, and then colored in PhotoshopCS2 with a Wacom Graphire tablet(sucks). Hope you like it!

Hey peoples! For those of you that check this blog out on the regular, I apologize for my lack of updates...Just been really busy with work! Anyway, here're some new things from me. The Yakuza dude is for a CG movie proposal I'm working on with my good friend John Jenkins, who did some effects on the Matrix, and some other stuff...The other thing is just a sketch I decided to color for practice. Hey peoples! Well, you're looking at the pencils for my very first print EVER! Its a momentus occasion. When complete, it will feature the beautiful coloring of the lovely and talented Christina Strain(Runaways, Fathom, Daughters of the Dragon...), so I can't wait to see it all done. Also momentus, this will be the first time I'll be attending the New York Con! I'm totally excited, especially because I'll be sitting at a table with some people who's work I really think highly of. Not much to say about this one, only that it took a little longer than the others, and also I feel like I'm getting more comfortable with Photoshop, and with color in general. I love it! Definitely something I'm going to continue working on and developing.

Heya. This is another of the X-men designs I did...I've decided I'm gonna try to color all of them in photoshop, just for practice. I'm not quite as a happy with the way this one came out as I was with the Jean Grey one, but oh well. I'm learning as I go!

Ummm, not much to say about this one! Its a Cyclops design I did. Had fun with the boots. Basically, I wanted to stick to the classic design, but at the same time adding some touches to make it a bit more interesting.

Hey people,
Just did this sketch as a bonus for someone who purchased some of my artwork on e-bay. Its supposed to be Sorceress from the He-man cartoon. This is kind of a "con-style" sketch--quick and simple, but I always try and make it look decent by adding some shading and stuff. Anyway, hope you guys like it!
In other news, I'm going to be redesigning my website soon, and I actually just had a meeting with my webmaster about it. I'm really looking forward to it, as its been a long time coming. Anyway, look for that probably in about 3 months. Thanks!

Hey everybody! Here's a new sketch I whipped up of the Hulk. Its kinda sloppy, but I've been crazy busy with heroes stuff and felt the need to get something up. Its also something thats a bit reminiscent of my older style. Not sure if I like the results. I think I'm starting to go a little more in the direction of stylized realism, and to me this seems like kind of a step back in terms of that. Maybe I'm just trippin though. What do you guys think?

Hey there peoples! I know I said this blog is going to be all non-work-related art, but I'm kinda bending the rules. This is a study I did for a He-man piece that is going to be published in a new animation magazine. This project has been SO much fun because Masters of the Universe was my favorite cartoon as a kid. I even named my cat "Master of the Universe"! Hey, don't judge me, I was only 4 years old. Anyway, hope you enjoy.

Whats up everyone? Welcome to my blog! This being my first post, I feel I should explain what you can expect to see here in the future. Basically, I plan to use this as a motivational tool for me to do some sketches and other work outside of stuff I'm getting paid for. I miss the freedom that comes with not having a client or boss that has to approve all of my work, so I thought this would be a good way to bring that aspect of art back into my life.
